MAA Southwestern Section Announces Winner of Section Award for Teaching of Mathematics

The MAA Southwestern Section congratulates Dr. Angie Hodge-Zickerman (Northern Arizona University) who recently won the MAA Southwestern Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics.

Her nominator submitted the following contribution:

Dr. Hodge-Zickerman is an amazing educator. She is student focused and no matter what, she has the students' learning at heart with everything she does. She is able to adjust her teaching to meet the needs of all her students even in challenging time like Covid. Her research agenda is also focused on improving mathematics instruction and she is always on the forefront of new pedagogies (like BTC) and technologies (like AI). She shares her knowledge willingly and is an outstanding mentor to junior faculty. Her easy going personality makes it a pleasure to work with her. She is definitely worthy of this award!
